Iceland’s fine Vök are taking their powerful LP Figure for another tour across Europe. This Friday March 9th, they are going to make a quick stop at Hamburg’s Molotow, co-presented by Team Poule. Support comes from Sweden’s electric mogul Mountain Bird.

For the occasion, we managed to secure a pair of tickets to see it all. All you need to do to have a chance at entering Molotow at no cost, is drop a comment below and hope that your name will be selected, Thursday 6pm sharp. Attached below is their latest video, a live recording of Floating. Get ready!

Yes! Ice cold melodies splashing over from London, by way of British-Nigerian producer Tony Njoku. Attached is his latest track, a very personal rework of Drifting, and a Team Poule exclusive! The original Drifting Off In A Care Powered Balloon came out in October and was a tad warmer and forward and vocals driven then this piece which does cater to the stranger moments in life.

Tony, who grew up in Nigerian metropolis Lagos before relocating to London, cut off the balloons and turned the track into a distant and spheric soundcloud, using just piano and synth. The remix will be part of his new album H.P.A.C, with a release date on April 27th, via the stellar Silent Kid Records. Take it away.

Photo-Interview #13: Shy Shy Shy

Copenhagen’s Shy Shy Shy locked themselves into a studio for the past 12 months, and really had a good go at it. Now though, they are ready and excited to present their newest washing and debut album Make Up with a scheduled delivery date for Friday, March 2nd.

With a reputation for catchy pop music and witty lyrics, the album routinely talks about the inner forces and contrasts of daily human life, of what you want to do and what you actually do, of finding the right words for the situation, hours later. And it all comes wrapped in warm, hazy electronics. Make Up has become a synthy anthem to the Seinfeld moments of life, to life itself really.

Pasted above is their trademark single Lucky Luke. And given them being so eloquent, Team Poule figured why not have them have a go at something a little more visual, and conduct yet another photo-based interview. Take it away team.

Icy tunes and icy times ahead. Here comes Danish ambient-fused duo Hellas with their newest hazy tune POP, topped with crisp visuals and storytelling for their new video shot by William Wivel on 16mm in Toronto, part I of which is attached below for a Poule d’Or premiere. Hellas are a Peter on piano and Jeppe on drums, and together they just have a good old go at it, pushing boundaries in the process.

POP comes off their EP with the same name from a couple of months ago. And if you think, well this is all really nice, rest assured that what you hear has been “exclusively played on acoustic, prepared grand piano and drums, and it is all played live. No dubs, no synths, no editing what so ever.”, as the group emphasizes. Astonishing, really. And wrapped in lo-fi aesthetics below. Team Poule says, quite the heavyweight!

Sweden’s finest Summer Heart has stepped forward with a new project for 2018 during which he has set out to release a summer song each month, throughout the year. #12SongsOfSummer has kicked off last week, with We Are The Ones. The dreamy upbeat piece is attached below, and given the arctic status most parts Europe are in right now, this warm slinger doesn’t come a second too early. Cool.

And not only that, it’s almost March, which is time for SXSW. The Summer Hearts have lined up not two but three shows so far, official ones at least, that go like this:

3/12 – Greenbelt Touring Presents “All the Friends Fest” @ Swan Dive
3/13 – Greenbelt Official Showcase @ Cheer Up Charlies
3/17 day – Jesse Rosoff presents Rosquatch @ Swan Dive

Whoa, power poppers Villa Bongo out of Nashville come out with a big fish. All Night is red hot new and carried by deep infectious riffs and dreamy story telling, talking about the struggles of keeping up with an anxious, depressed and insomniac partner. Certainly eases the pain when wrapped in warm strings and poppy melodies like this one. Team Poule says, it’s gonna be alright.
