hunckJust weeks before their biggest headline show to date comes this new kicker from London group Hunck. A driving ode to the journey of finding “The One”, waiting All Dressed Up. The show then will see them performing their arts on time on the stages of The Lexington on August 16th, with support from Lupo and Physic Markers. What a great dreamy parade. Team Poule says, deal me in.

sardineHave you ever eaten Sardines straight from the can? If so, you will be familiar with that sudden and happy feeling of surprise finding ever one or two more of the salty delicacies hiding inside that from outside seemingly small aluminum colosseum. Salty delicacies then, are just what Poule d’Or is all about. And just like a can of oily fish comes along this new playlist covering no less that 24 songs. Quite the heavy weight. But bear with me just a second. It is a carefully selected collection of the hottest tunes out there, no less.

Featuring Los Angeles’ fast breaking Small Forward, smooth forwards Fiancé from Delaware, old mates Art Bloc and Castlebeat, Canadian producer Benjamin Munoz, flawless Jordan Dean Riddle out of Portland, US diamonds Sibling, London’s high flying PotéKOWL who makes Bill Clinton blush, Brooklyn’s Kent Odessa, smooth operators Minden, as well as banging indie pop by Swiss Antipods and Germans Pool, just to name a few. So, in absence of a new compilation, please enjoy this careful SoundCloud curation. Team Poule says, the key is, to always spread the love.

castlebeatRead somewhere that the weight of all bacteria on the planet added up comes down to more than what all people taken together weigh in. So weird. In the same vein, listening through new musics day in day out, the amount of awful music out there is truly amazing. It’s just too much. On the upside though, it is even more fun to find a total gem like Castlebeat. Warm riffs, driving melodies and fuzzy vocals, good old bedroom productions. What dreams are made of. The 22-year-old Castlebeat just released his debut album this Friday, July 22. The mad second single Rope off that album is attached below for you to goûter. Team Poule says, I can vibe to this all day.

swayYup, there you have it. He has said it. He did it. Canadian native and Berlin resident Sway Clarke has an all new video out for his hit single I Don’t Need Much. And if you think, yadda yadda yadda I heard that song before, hold to your wigs and keys just a minute and wait this one out because Mr. Clarke has hidden something rad and new in there for part two.

The video then, is attached below and does accompany the release of his new EP titled Bad Love: five mad tracks, a perfect companion to your average July twilight ride or just when hanging out in front of you favorite sunset. Also, if you enjoy a bit of urban perspectives from Germany’s capital I Don’t Need Much will have you covered as well.

On top of that, Mr. Clarke has announced an evening live in concert at the end of the month – featuring a full-on band! Note that down in your Moleskines, Keller in Neukölln, July 29th. Be rude not to. Team Poule says, what more DO you need, really.

art_blocStellar debut track by Art Bloc – channeling the holy trinity of Jamie xx, Bowie and Toro Y Moi for their banging Everyday. The UK duo is pictured above, spotted in their natural habitat, and reportedly wrote and produced this fine track at the mere age of 17 – surreal. When Team Poule was that age, Pokemons were the talk of the town and Clinton was President – surreal! The composition of Everyday is as smooth as it gets and the charming vocals by Beth Duck pick you up right where you left off. Team Poule says, this is so good, I can’t even.

twin_riverWHO is up for some new visuals raise your hands. The charming Twin River have put forth a new single with a video attached and Team Poule has been chosen to be the host of the (german) premiere for this one. In a market of 80+ million viewers, this is quite the honour!

Now, Twin River are a duo and sometimes a group of five people, evidence above. They just released their second studio album by the name of Passing Shade on Light Organ Records. If you are into the driving riffs and banging pop melodies, this is something I could see you being interested in. Their new album is a fine collection of ten catchy, warm rock songs with a strong pop handling, what more could you ask for really? The video for Settle Down was shot by Anthem Jackson and produced by Tim Kubbinga and features a fair amount of tulips, road trip freedom and popcorn. Team Poule says, these kids know how to have fun.
