Reeperbahn Festival takes over Hamburg’s district of St. Pauli this week for four days of music, art, workshops and panels. More than 1.000 events are scheduled for September 20 – 23, and among the over 500 concerts a whole platoon of gems have hidden themselves.

Among them is French duo Agar Agar, who really know what they’re doing, playing an energetic spin of electro pop that has an irresistible 80s vibe going on and the air of the streets of Paris written all over it. The two of them will be playing Häkken on Thursday at 22h20. Their Cardon EP is out now on Cracki Records and the brilliant Prettiest Virgin – which sports almost half a million plays by now – is attached below, Team Poule says, right on the spot.

Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival is set to go down smooth as silk this week, taking over the St. Pauli district from September 20-23. With over 500 concerts scheduled in more than 70 venues for the occasion, it can be a two man job to scroll through the line-up. Lucky then, that Team Poule has your back.

A total gem on the ticket this year are Copenhagen’s IRAH. They are a rather grand appearance on stage, one of those that while they are good on record, can’t quite fully be caught on tape. Still, attached below, is their new single Worship The Sun, for a glimpse. A celebration of Earth, Moon and Sun, a product of a late evening in Copenhagen, with the city lights shining outside the windows and lightnings appearing in the distance. Pure drone, and an entrance on stage. They play Indra on Saturday 21h20 as part of Music Export Denmark’s showcase. Team Poule says, go get em!

Hamburg, late September, Reeperbahn Festival. It’s a given. This year’s festival has a ridiculous line-up with more than 1.000 events of four days, September 20-23. Next to workshops and panels, over 500 concerts will be played in 70 venues along the famous Reeperbahn road in Hamburg’s red light district.

On the ticket are UK sensations Childhood. Their dreamy indie pop lures you right in, and leaves you with a positive view on the future and the here and now. The group has just put out their second album titled Universal High on Marathon Artists, and it is a good one. They will be playing Terrace Hill on Thursday night 23h40. Team Poule says, determination.

Hamburg’s own Reeperbahn Festival started out more than a decade ago with a handful of clubs along the famous red light district getting together for a weekend of music and concerts. Over the years it has developed into one of Europe’s largest industry meetings and this year sports North of 500 concerts, alongside over 50 art programs and more than 250 keynotes, talks, panels, and workshops. It all goes down next week, September 20 – 23 in no less than 70 venues, all around Hamburg’s St. Pauli area and it’s main attraction, Reeperbahn road.

The four days hold a number of very interesting names on the musical line-up. One of them is Berlin’s own Pabst. A healthy indie rock trio out of Berlin, a group of people that actually does seem to get things rolling and done. Attached below is their pure and neatly mixed, psychedelic single Skinwalker off their EP of the same name. The group will be playing Prinzenbar on Wednesday as part of the German Music Talent showcase that night. They are on at 21h20. Team Poule says, bring it on Reeperbahn.
