vildeFew details about VILDE available, a mystery like Trump’s tax returns. Bit more exciting this mystery here though because here he comes, Mr Thomas Vilde out of Stockholm, releasing a single every month – for 12 months straight – and we are only in month two, how good is that. Attached below then is Dreamboat, his second fantastic vessel of a single, a perfect mix of tropical grooves, maritime summer vivre and almost french dance vibes. Team Poule says, hop aboard.

kirrin_island_telescopeGerman duo Kirrin Island apparently spent the summer busily sniffing through their vast collection of recorded samples, layering them with a fresh line of synths and vocals, finally deriving their sophomore album. Telescope turned out equally poppy and experimental, grooving from a danceable collection of beats and looped melodies to original vocals that flush right in, next to the samples. At 11 songs the album ranges from more electronic, almost psychedelic tracks like Clouds and the Billion One feature Time Slips Away, to sort of tropical interludes as Die Kinder and Die Tiere, and playful songs like Perpetuum Mobile. All in all a total joyride of blips and layers and drums making the album both rad and new.

Telescope is out now digitally on Bandcamp and in a limited run of handmade CDs, alongside a great animated teaser video by Kevin Kunstler here. Attached below then is Slow Beast, a drifting exhibit of the Kirrin Island sound. Team Poule says, a proper beast this album.

The photo above of Kirrin Island in action was shot by talented photographer Sebastian Weiß. All rights lie with Sebastian Weiß, and Sebastian Weiß only.

von_sellThe very talented man that is Von Sell released a new hot ball of electronic poppy goodness, moments after his debut EP. Ivan (Revisited) is a flawless, spheric banger, an ode to life itself. And if you find yourself humming to that melody be sure to check out the Brooklynite’s aforementioned and self-titled debut which came out only last month. The EP carries six proper bricks of a song that stack up to create a colourful wall of smooth synth and those perfect vocals. Team Poule says, I can groove to that.

lowlyJa Ja Ja, your favorite Scandinavian organisation engaged in the export of musical pleasures, have lined up another one of their fabolous showcases. The setup goes like this, three phenomenal new bands from Scandinavia, free soup, and a drink on the house. What is not to like? Up next are Finland’s mysterious folk rockers Lake Jons, electro-acoustic (if that makes any sense) group Apothek from Norway, and our lovely favorites Lowly from Denmark.

Attached below you will find yet another gem by the Danes, their latest offering Word. Marvelous electronic production, careful on-point vocals and a distinct sense for timing and melody, just beautiful. And really one to be seen on a stage, in live action. The group started in the area around Aarhus’ infamous music school, so they know what they’re doing, and after steadily conquering the North have now announced a full-on UK tour in February next year. Look out for that, and for their debut album Heba which is scheduled for release February 10th. In the meantime, go see this Ja Ja Ja showcase in Hamburg’s Molotow November 23rd, and Berlin’s Musik und Frieden the day after. Team Poule says, what a ride this will be.

emmecostaThe fruity loops of Emmecosta released a new song titled His Power Of Youth last week via fair old Stereogum. The three Italians based in Gothenburg describe the sound as post-club tropical indie soul so I guess anything goes. And while Team Poule isn’t one to look back and do year-ends-lists but rather taking a longterm view on things, these chaps are well positioned to be taking over the relevant stages of 2017 – and possibly beyond. His Power Of Youth is out now on Swedish indie label Icons Creating Evil Art. Team Poule says, right in the kisser this one.

swayAll around sweet heart and hat lover Sway Clarke is busy touring the relevant parts of Germany right now, making a stop in Berlin tomorrow Nov 8th, Hamburg on the day after tomorrow and Cologne after that in support of big shot Dellé. Attached below you will find Sway’s latest single Tangerine, a beautifully shot piece of film and exhibit A to make you want to see and hear this voice fill the mighty halls and balconies along this tour. Tangerine can be found on Sway Clarke’s current EP titled Bad Love which is out now. Team Poule says, how about that, a Tangerine, the size of a Tangerine.
