Fresh out the garage this one. Swedish trio CHANCVN dropped a dreamy ball of surging beats, thin vocals and shimmering guitars. They really are all about the dreamy things in life, enjoying themselves at a recent photo shoot above. The three of them are set to release their self titled debut EP on Swedish label VÅRØ on Friday next week, October 28. Team Poule says, let’s get a closer look.
Everyone’s favorite label PIAS just took these guys under their digital imprint wings at Different Recordings. A debut album in the making. Groves reportedly formed in Manchester only last year and spent the next year touring, finding their sound, which is now being put on tape. Evidence in the body of Do You Feel, attached below. They certainly know how to twist and turn those buttons and strings. The drive on this one is stellar. Team Poule says, just doesn’t let go of you.
Time is scarce and opportunities are endless. Choices, selections, and curations to be made. Los Angeles’ Antoine Diligent has all the right reasons on his side and his great single below is only exhibit A. His debut LP Futurisms is scheduled for roll out on October 28th and carries a line up of 11 psych pop tracks, ranging from vast electronic soundscapes to dense pop gems, like Reasons. A dreamy collection of sunny riffs and positive vibes, just the right soundtrack for this time of the year. Team Poule says, spot on.
Let me point you in the direction of Belka Records, a young label based in Paris and Moscow, dedicated to promoting Eastern European music. Last month they put out their first compilation over at bandcamp, a lovely collection of dream pop and rock tracks, ranging from very European sounding tunes to your average Siberian post punk, Russian lyrics included. The compilation features music from Novosibirsk to Moscow, from Tambov to Tomsk. A movement of “New Russian Wave” in the making.
Attached below is Parks, a track by Novosibirsk ensemble FPRF that was originally out on their album 87% Chill, recorded in New York last winter. Team Poule says, what a ride.
Did you know that if you leave everything to the last minute, it will only take a minute!? Life hacks. This track then, has been around for a while. Handsome Chest is producer Richard Gardner out of Silverlake, California, and just before he drops a new hot ball of a remix, this fab rework below of Solai should get a bit of your attention. His spin of Islands In The Sun is a perfect breezy companion on a dark afternoon, not even half way through October. Team Poule says, don’t let them.
Danish pop sensations Palace Winter have had a stellar year already, as pictured above, ecstatic. Tons of coverage and airplay, an EP, a debut album, shows at a number of high ranking festivals, crucially including Roskilde. So, for the final months of 2016 the duo is about to embark on a larger European tour. Key dates include at gig in Hamburg – where on 30 October they will be playing a Team Poule presented show at shiny Häkken, how about that. Update: after a sold out in gig in London the Hamburg show has been moved to Astra Stube, as shiny.
The full tour starts 19 October in Belgian hub Ghent and goes on to take them to Paris, London, Manchester, Leeds, Brighton Cardiff’s infamous Swn Festival, Eindhoven and Berlin, among others. Find all dates, nicely listed here.
Attached below is their evergreen Menton – named after a city in the south of France, home of Hôtel Winter-Palace, mind you. A perfect driver song, just picture yourself in the Maritime Alps, turn after turn, after turn, riff after riff, after riff. Team Poule says, sign me up!
