Stockholm quartet Melby produce a charming blend of straight forward indie pop paired with kind of folksy attitudes on their new track Cross – and all without being too foresty folky you know. The floral elements of life seem to be more up the groups alleys and Melby’s tunes certainly carry those blooming spring vibes, enough to send you over the edge. Cross is their latest piece out on the great Rama Lama Records who will also put forth their debut EP in May. Also catch singer Matilda Wiezell sharing her powerful vocals on fellow Rama Lamas’ Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes’ track. Team Poule says, cheers to that.

Stockholm’s latest multi-instrumentalist STRØM is aiming to be as flexible as it gets, no musical boundaries, no stylistic borders, and yet pursuing a distinct goal. He says the likes of Jai Paul, D’Angelo, Daniel Lanois and DIIV are who influence him. Attached below then, is his latest genre-crasher Mesmerize, out now on Icons Creating Evil Art. A somewhat dark and bass loaded drama of a track, yet delicate and precise. Team Poule says, tear em down, man.

March 20th, the vernal equinox, the moment in which the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the center of the Sun, when day and night are of approximately equal duration all over this planetary boundary, the turn of the seasons. What a time to be alive.

Get ready then for this one is quite the heavy weight, a harbinger of great things to come this year. Attached below you find the latest installment of the Poule d’Or compilation 2.0, the Bright Clouds series, a range of playlists put together from the great niches of SoundCloud – also available on Spotify. Buckle up, here it goes. [continue reading…]

So, Poule headquarters recently acquired a set of Sonos boxes and life couldn’t be better. The most giving feature of them being a preset function called TuneIn which basically allows you to listen to your local radio station via the Sonos system. Nothing too fancy you might think, but it actually is such a powerful tool because you can set any location on this planet as default. It has led Team Poule to listening to a ton of local radio stations, ranging from Senegal and Uganda to Poland, Indonesia, Panama and Chile. It is actually amazing. Like a journey around the world, into the daily lives of those places, from your handheld device. Try it, and also if you have any tips on solid local radio stations, hit us up.

Now, Balún on the other hand are great group of people that Team Poule has been familiar with for some time. Their debut album Memoria Textil from 2010 has been on a constant rotation, for their exciting mix of latin indie vibe and somewhat dark electronics aged like fine wine. This month after a stint at SXSW they announced the upcoming release of their sophomore album Prisma Tropical. Thus, attached below comes their latest treat, Teletransporte. One of the more chill and Björk-y numbers, they can be a bit more banging and poppy at times. Team Poule says, que bonita!

Good weather poppers and ironed shirt rockers Pool are scheduled to play songs at Uebel & Gefährlich in Hamburg this Friday March 10 as part of their larger European endeavors. Followers of Camp Poule are once again on the sunny side of life, as 2×2 tickets for the occasion are up for grabs. Simply paste your name below into the comments section and leave a few words of wisdom. The lucky winners will be picked at random by Thursday night, 9pm CET sharp. So get your ducks in order.

Below then is attached Pool’s latest offering Jealousy. A sun drenched stroke of a March madness vibe, out now. Furthermore, The Pools will continue their tour, with stops in Ludwigsburg, Essen, Mainz, Aachen, Paderborn and Nürnberg coming up this month and the next. Team Poule says, oh the fun of German landstraßen.

Another gem from Sweden – where nothing much happened last Friday. RHEYA here then, making Sweden look mighty great, yet again. Franchise sure sounds like a full parade with those dreamy riffs and reverbed vocals but in fact it is a one man show. And while Team Poule can well picture this track being played under the bare summer skies, pool side, or by the sea, live dates are yet to be announced. A known fact though, is his debut EP Union will be out next week, March 3rd on the mighty Vårø Records. Team Poule says, one piece at a time this one.
