Eeeek – MS Dockville is almost here! One definitely NOT to miss is British team Glass Animals. The lads might be already quite exciting on a record – but give them a stage to perform their recordings on and oh my it’s on a whole other level. For sure one you should put down in your little calendars, they are playing Maschinenraum on Saturday, 17h40.

Team Poule spent the past weekend in Sweden, enjoying some of the finest music under the sunny Göteborg skies: [tweetable hashtag=”via @pouledor #wowgbg”]buckets of roses, disgusted audiences and Swedes losing control – Way Out West had it all[/tweetable]. And really, if you ever look for an excuse to make a trip up the Western Swedish coast line, this is the time to do it. Göteborg is a very nice city, second biggest after Stockholm, and the countryside – oh my: beaches like the Mediterranean and I even saw some proper palm trees. No shit. The festival itself however is held in the Slottskogen park in the heart of the city of Göteborg and even includes a small zoo with very polite penguins and seals. This year’s head liners included some rather big names like Röyksopp & Robyn, Outkast, Mos Def slash Yasiin Bey, The National and Swedish legend Veronica Maggio.
Probably one of the most-hyped names this year: Jungle. The ensemble built up quite a bit of online buzz and followed up with a rather great album. Now they are off playing as many festivals as is humanly possible this summer and correctly they chose to play Hamburg on their way. Not only that, they will also be back in Germany in November playing on four dates – so get the taste at Dockville and reminisce about that feeling in a hot night club in fresh November. They will be playing Großschot on Friday 17.20

It’s that time of the year again. The loving green island of Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg is playing host to one of the finest reasons to pay this great city a visit: MS Dockville opens it doors 15-17 August. And this year a whole range of planets seem to be in line, not only has this summer been absolutely hot and sizzling and fingers crossed it can carry on a bit more, no this year’s line-up is packeddd with very exciting names. While sort of lacking the uber-big head liner, it feels like this year, Dockville has one of the deepest line-ups ever: Flume, Sohn, Ry X, Cashmere Cat, Breton, Sun Glitters.. Mac De Marco, Kakkamaddafakka, Mø, Milky Chance, Chet Faker, it really is a brilliant range of exciting names on this years timetable.
Also on the rather long list of great things waiting to happen is Dream Koala, french dream pop legend and self-proclaimed post j-pop artist. He will be playing one of the last gigs at Klüse stage on Sunday night 23.15 – with a stellar view on the harbour. Attached below is the great track Earth of his new EP.
Way Out West is drawing closer and one of the many great and talented Swedish names on the line-up is Stockholm’s Zhala. Heavy electronic beats, driving hooks and the typical lightness of Swedish pop music. Cosmic pop. Ice cold. She will be one not to miss in Göteborg this week. Attached below is the intense single Prophet off her debut EP which is out on Konichiwa Recordings – Robyn’s label. Hit that.
Surely another hit you do not want to miss at Way Out West this week: Yumi Zouma. The lovely New Zealanders play one of the finest dream pop tunes you will ever hear. It’s 80s, it’s disco, it’s laid back, it’s ultimately pop. Should be a great show in fresh Göteborg. The trio released a fantastic EP on Cascine earlier this year.
