Super into this. Remember our old pay Future Sound? This guy. He is part of this great new ensemble called Eilen operating out of America’s East Coast, presumably Florida. Ultra smooth downtempo, sort of 80s but rap’ish and very pop – the perfect soundtrack to a little twilight ride on your bicycle on a hot summer night, watching the sun dipping into the ocean. It’s the first single off their upcoming album Slow Advances – don’t miss.
You will also be pleased to learn that American Apparel deemed this song worth soundtracking their latest lingerie ad. Here is the video, casual.
Dev Hynes has been around in various formats for a while and still Team Poule hasn’t had a chance to see this man’s mighty live show. Good thing then that Blood Orange will be making a stop in Göteborg to play a few songs at Way Out West this week. Up above is his trademark single Chamakay off his second album that came out last year. Channeling Future Islands-like dance moves on this one. I reckon this should be equally exciting on a stage.
Rad soul-fused sort of electro pop coming in from London’s Laura Jae. Minimal electro beats combined with powerful vocals, the stuff summer nights under the starry sky as well as inside a club are made of. Slip a drink in your hand and hit play.
Attached below is the smooth number Nostalgic off her debut EP Silver Lined Hearts which is out for free on her Soundcloud.
Göteborg’s prestigious Way Out West slash Stay Out West is taking place next weekend and Team Poule couldn’t be more excited to get on a train up North. And little do you know, the festival acutally is not that far west. It is placed righttt in the city like all good festivals should be. The headliners among a massive lineup include some minor names like Röyksopp and Robyn, How To Dress Well, Outkast, Motörhead (hell yeah!), The National, Polica, Mos Def, Icona Pop, Little Dragon and a whole range of other Swedish artists and you know that is never a bad idea.
One of those Swedish names are our old pals Colleagues – who shared a track for the 11th compilation last year. It will be a pleasure seeing them on a stage, playing their swingy indie pop in the refreshing Göteborg air. Attached below is their latest gem Tears.
Now here is a band that has it all. London duo Pin Tweaks not only has a killer name chosen for themselves, their first and only song out yet Girl On The Wire is a fantastically chilled sort of electro pop track that makes your skin curl. Super good. Does come with a great video too.
And the story of how the two met. When they were dating a pair of sisters. How about that. Attached below is their stellar entry Girl On The Wire (pushing it up). Let this one guide you through the weekend – hey-yooo!
Now, two of these above are gonna be spending some time in Croatia in September when legendary Unknown Festival is opening its gates for this years extravaganzas. Set nicely on the Adriatic coast line in Rovonj, the festival takes places not only on the beach but also along the hinterland forests and the islands nearby. Boat parties included. The official festival does come with the option of a three star hotel which is among the best things Team Poule has seen a festival do. Sleeping in the forest under the starry skies does sound a bit more festival’ish though.
So who else will be on board – literally? Jungle and Mount Kimbie, Jamie xx, Erol Alkan, and a load more. Already confirmed headliners include Nile Rodgers (yes.), Disclosure, Moderat, London Grammar and bunch more waiting to be announced. Mark that in your calendars, September 8-12th.
Attached below is TEED setting the mood with Your Love. Hot sun, sandy beaches, cool shade under the trees and hot summer nights by the sea – it really goes.
