Today’s Morceau du Jour is from Muchuu. They are back with their wonderfully childish electro-pop. Also check their last single “Somebody Tell Me” – rad AS.
Okay, while I’m at the whole jumping on bandwagons thing, I might just as well post a little something about Two Door Cinema Club. They have been topping bands-to-watch-in-2010 lists all over the blogosphere recently. I honestly don’t understand why they haven’t had mainstream success yet. I mean, not that I would want everybody to know them, but they just have this special ingredient that makes it impossible to keep them from going global. Everything they released so far was absolutely remarkable. I wrote a little something about their terrific song “Undercover Martyn” in march last year – when this really wasn’t a blog yet. About 10 months later, today that is, said song gets its own video and will be released as a single in advance to the album launch in march. I was instantly in love with everything they released, which was the magnificent 5 track EP “Four Words to Stand On”, the brilliant “Something Good Can Work” on the Kitsuné Maison Compilation 7 (their label) and the very, very catchy “I Can Talk” single. Just last week or so, they released “Costume Party” – a teaser to the album ‘Tourist History”. With my expectations ridiculously high already, that song did not disappoint. You can download it for free on their homepage in exchange for your e-mail address. I have attached both official videos below. So bottomline, in my eyes they are the hottest band out there – for a year now – and it can only be a matter of days until they burst into superstardom.

I am gonna jump on the bandwagon here. Darwin Deez has been around the blogosphere for a while now and their debut album is set to be released soon. There is a song collection floating through the web, if you know where to look. Darwin Deez describe their music as “happy music for sad people, white music for black people”. Brilliant, so they are not only making good music and incredibly sharp looking, they got a sense of humour too. Some people got the whole package. Take a hike, Manning! Make sure you check this song out. It’s been stuck in my head since:

Hard Mix is the latest music project by Noah Smith. He is 19 and based in South Carolina. He started playing drums at the age of 9 and later played guitar here and there. The past two years he played drums in a band and a lot of local shows. In that period he started making his own music, which he claims “wasn’t that good”. So here is Hard Mix, his first steps as a solo artist. And wow, are they promising. He has posted a 5 track EP to download for free on his myspace page. The 5 tracks contain vocal samples from the likes of Justin Timberlake and The Backstreet Boys. Haha, they’ve never sounded better! So, go ahead, spread the word!
The friends over at Haphazard Mixtape posted “Bille Holiday” – a track that didn’t land a spot on the terrific debut album. EPIC indeed. CLICK
