Captain-Capa-Presse-OR2A0278Hamburg’s notorious Audiolith label keep pushing themselves into the more pop end of the musical spectrum, always a plus in Team Poule’s books. This one is Captain Capa and they are quite literally from the middle of Germany. Where there isn’t much going on, but you can quickly get everywhere else. And they do, see this rad video for the lead single.

Their new album Foxes came out last week: electro-pop’y greatness, a late-20s coming-off-age saga. Check their tour dates, Berlin November 14th, Hamburg December 6th, and loads more.

knocking_ghostThere can only be so much good music coming out of London. However, here is another great one. Knocking Ghost, trio from West London. Emphasis West. They had an EP out last year which got them a gig at the Isle of Man Festival, so that’s nice. Here now is a new track, Soul Aspiration with some very firm synth pop. Can easily vibe to this, especially on a Friday night. Keep em coming.

anoraakYou know there is this famous Hemingway quote saying, “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.” Hitting play on Anoraak’s fantastic new album Chronotropic is exactly like pulling the trigger on that. It induces a fresh Pigalle flair, sipping cocktails in former strip clubs, casually sucking on a ciggie. Pure french vibes coming out of your speakers. Paris in September.

And that is only one way to look at it. [tweetable hashtag=”@anoraak #pouledor”]Imagine a french Ryan Gosling in Drive. This is the soundtrack.[/tweetable] Luckily the entire album is up for streaming on Hype Machine. Attached is one of the faster numbers, Morning Light. Which is a great song but not Team Poule’s total favourite, so listen to that whole album, it will make you happy and your day better. What more could you ask for.

ambroseAutumn is here and in full effect. The music is getting darker, the vibezzz are getting colder and it’s getting this little bit more difficult to get out of bed in the morning. However, here comes the kicker, Ambrose provide an icy-warm synth-soundtrack for this time of the year: Hourglass Sands is their first single and they just found shelter under Montreal avant garde label Visage Musique. Stay tuned for more.

swayWoof – this voice. How Team Poule missed this voice. Sway Clarke II finally comes out of the woods with some fresh new tunes. You might recall his other project, Freedom Or Death, but it was a while ago. Totally worth revisiting though. So here he comes, solo and more witty and stronger than ever. [tweetable alt=”Sway Clarke II totally syrup’ed Kendrick on this one” hashtag=”#pouledor #swayclarkeii”]He totally syrup’ed Kendrick on this one.[/tweetable] As in, un-chopped and un-screwed. After listening to Sway’s version, the original track sounds like the remix. Wait for the banging end of this one. Super good, more, please.

mercedesIt’s Tuesday, and Poule HQ is totally vibing to this [tweetable hashtag=”#mercedes #pouledor”]80s-fused piece of happiness by Mercedes.[/tweetable] Who is neither a car nor German – although she is rocking some ace adidas flip flops and white tennis socks in that photo above. That precious hair of hers is based in London but was raised in Copenhagen’s autonomous Christiania. So this one isn’t just another Shoreditch hipster. Mercedes is Full Tilt.
