Shy for Shore just released this bad boy and it’s graaand. Reinvented 80s fused synth pop as good as it gets. Comes with a fantastic video too.
Hamburg’s feel good indietronic legends The Very First Teenager are finally releasing their beautifully titled debut EP You’ve Heard You’ve Seen You Know next month, 18 July, on Norway’s Karmakosmetix both digitally and as a proper vinyl release. A fantastic six track joy ride filled with guitar driven beats, vocoder samples and warm ambient soundscapes.
The first single is Lorbas and will be out 27 June. Lorbas comes along with five rather spectacular remixes too. The reworks include productions from Kirrin Island, Federweiss & LennArt, Fumus Nebula, Rapide and this bad boy attached below by Newcastle’s super cat Waskerley Way who turned the piano-led dance banger Lorbas into a smooth almost psychedelic sun riser.
Catch The Very First Teenager in Hamburg tonight 17 June at Astra Stube. And also in Cologne on the 21st at Fête De La Musique, among other dates.

Does anyone not like Scandinavia? One of their finest traditions is Midsommar, celebrating the white night, when the sun never really disappears, the shortest night of the year, the beginning of summer. However, Scandinavia is kind of remote and kind of a trip away, so thank you Nordic by Nature, Norr Magazine, Kaltblut and Zitty for simply taking the party to the very easily accessible city of Berlin! For the third time they will host the lovely Berlin Midsommar Festival with a whole raaange of fantastic Swedish games, bands, DJs, foods and drinks.
On June 20th UrbanSpree will be turned into a Scandinavian wonderland with some of their finest musical exports playing live from 4pm: Rytmeklubben, Pooma, Blaue Blume, Ice Cream Cathedral, Sandra Kolstad, Adna and Summer Heart.
And like the shortest night has the longest day, like every yin has its yang, there are David of Summer Heart and Fred of Sameblod. They’ll make the trip to Berlin and bring some fine Swedish Midsommar flavour to UrbanSpree. Now and while Summer Heart is busy recording a new album to take across Europe this summer, Fred and Mike slash Sameblod just released a red hot new single. And because you can never really learn enough from Sweden where they have the locks in their doors upside down and nobody buys at IKEA anymore and because Team Poule is a lazy one, it was decided that the two of them could just interview each other and here is what happened:
Great new single by DC’s finest PLOY. Sunset Love is as smooth as driving through cool woods on a Sunday afternoon in July. Speaking of July. The duo will release a new song every Monday in the month of July. Summer soundtrack. Also catch PLOY on Poule d’Or compilation 12 – which is still up for download here.
Semi-late on this. Tropic Of Youth are this fantastic group out of Sheffield in England and released a phenomenal five track EP titled Sun City back in April. Now that sizzling summer has arrived in most relevant parts of Europe, it even sounds better. Below is the beachy opener Poa Kichizi Kama Ndizi – perfect soundtrack to a sunny day by the sea. The entire EP is up for streaming in all its excellence here, and available through Plastic Fish Records.
Also, if you are in London and not into the World Cup – Tropic Of Youth are playing Birthdays this Saturday, June 14.
Get your oven gloves out for this one. The lovely fruit pants at Sameblod squeezed out a hot one. Suddenly is everything the two are doing to perfection. Driving synths, warm drums and oh those dreamy vocals. Makes you want to pack up everything and go fishing up North. There is something so natural about Sameblod’s music that really is unlike anything else.
Suddenly is out June 4th on Stockholm’s Sommarhjärta.
