Smooth synths, soul grooves, vocals in the Bowie-vein. Copenhagen trio Goldie Chorus seem to have it all. Struggling Hearts is their latest single and the video above a world exclusive, right here at Poule d’Or, embedded for your convenience. Hat-tip to Tobias Kiel, Uffe Dalskov, Kristian Paulsen and Anne Gry Kristensen for creating very fitting 80s-style Rick Astley visuals to this song.

Struggling Hearts is out this Monday, March 23, on Antiphonics – and prelude to a new EP to be released later this year. Goldie Chorus say they’d be an uptempo Air with more edgy production – which probably isn’t so wrong. However, on the upcoming EP they showcase a much more diverse, and beautifully crisp produced range of pop music – all under the heavy 80s influence these times have. A great single, and great EP to look forward to on a Scandinavian summer festivals this year.

Also, if you are in Copenhagen today – they are playing Drone at 9, sharing a stage with Team Poule favorites Palace Winter

purity_ringAll around pop sensations Purity Ring and illuminated selves just released their highly anticipated sophomore album Another Eternity on 4AD. Reason enough to take the shiny new baby on a tour around the old continent. The duo is making a stop in Germany next month, playing Cologne April 12th, Berlin 13th, Hamburg on the 21st and finally Munich on the 22nd.

If you have seen their last tour, you might want to get in line early because these bad boys will sell out faster than ice cream on a hot summer day. Attached is their latest single Begin Again.

malouinesAh – wow. The amazing Malouines, who you might remember from a range of spectacular remixes, returns and this time with a joint of his own. The End of Innocence is a banging yet sort of minimal mix of electro beats and dream pop twists. Trop bien. Follow this man.

Australian feel good indie poppers San Cisco are finally getting their bottoms across to the old continent. The quartet quite lovingly shared a track for the 9th Poule d’Or Compilation a mere three years ago and are now taking their talents to Europe celebrating the release of their new album titled Gracetown on March 27th. The album is just the right light tune to soundtrack the European spring. A 39 minute fun ride that will have you dancing on your toes.

And because at Poule headquarters we always look out for our most loyal followers, we managed to get our feathers on two tickets for their gig at Hamburg’s Molotow on March 28 waiting for one lucky winner. All you have to do is paste a comment below this post, stating your absolute favorite San Cisco track, the one that tickles you most. The winner will be drawn March 26, 6pm sharp.

Attached above is their latest video for the single Run of their new album. Try getting that track out of your head.

acre_tarnThere are songs where you hit play and immediately know it’s a good. This one is not one of them – kidding. The intro on this is absolutely fantastic and wait for that 1:11 mark. Booya. Acre Tarn is the team behind the track, the follow-up to her debut EP Clasp & Shake that came out in September. The new bit now, Dawn Faces is a breezy warm spring tune. And oh my, can you please check the artworks on her page – beauts.
