Keshavara here is a truly unique group of people based in Cologne, anchored around versatile producer Keshav Purushotham. It’s a big week for them because their new album Moondram Sevi is set to be released on Friday, via the great Papercup Records. It comes a whopping ten years after Keshav released his debut and neatly shows off his and their ability to dedicate themselves to progress.
Moondram Sevi is a true album and across its cosmic arc creates a spectacular progression of sounds, styles and lyrics, opening up a very visual and psychedelic kind of experience. Attached below is their latest single Sa Re Ga Me Pa which hangs more on the pop end of their spectrum, as well as Oracular, the album’s banging opener.
Over the years they have a assembled a remarkable collection of analog instruments, Tape Echoes, string machines and all sorts of percussion – and they are going to put them to the test in their upcoming tour across Europe in what your correspondent pictures as something like a David Bowie in The Prestige type of show slash apparatus that is able to produce all kinds of wonders.
They kick off their travels in Stuttgart Oct 16, and after dates in Switzerland, Luxembourgh adn the Netherlands call in Düsseldorf on Thursday, October 29th and Hamburg’s Nachtasyl on November 1st, Sunday. Monday night, November 2nd, they play in Copenhagen before circling back down through Germany to Hannover, Dresden etc etc. Find all dates nicely listed here, in order of appearance.
