bells_atlasOakland’s tropical poppers Bells Atlas released a new track last month and Sugar For The Queen isn’t short of amazing. Their enticing mix of indie pop riffs and soul vibes is quite enjoyable on a record or soundcloud wave but I reckon they will be an absolute banger when on a stage. Hit play below and picture them on a roof top under the clear blue sky, with a Martini in your hand. Sugar For The Queen is off their new EP Hyperlust which was released today, 1 June. Aces.

PALStraight to the juice here. PAL are a trio from Sweden and they are coming to Germany next week to play a handful of shows. Their exciting mix of jazz and indie pop is unlike anything you will have heard this year: wild, groovy, laid back and all around electrifying. They just released their second album titled Since and are taking it on tour in June. Attached below is the title track Since, stream the whole piece of beauty on bandcamp.

Catch them in Hamburg at Hasenschaukel 2 June, then in Leipzig, Chemnitz, Erlangen, Stuttgart and Darmstadt. Find all dates here.

bravestationProbably one of Team Poule’s all time favorites: Bravestation. And after being busy and silent for a while they are back with a new banger. Actors features their crisp production along with Devin’s warm vocals, a perfect team. It’s really amazing to see how, coming from a great EP five years ago, they steadily perfected their sound. Actors is another cherry on their cake – and comes with the promise a new EP to be out on Culvert Music this summer. All you need.

And if you call Toronto home, you are in luck. The trio is playing The Drake Hotel tonight May 29th and Ottawa tomorrow and some more dates end of June. Hallo.

Freedom_FryRed hot new this one. Freedom Fry just finished a residency at The Echo in LA – and had the audience participate in the making of this song, how cool is that. The claps and group vocals and screams you hear might just belong to someone you know. Freedom Fry are loving life and the hear and now and that is something that’s always a plus in Team Poule’s book. Catch them on a stage near you this summer. This is 21.

groundersIf you are anything like Team Poule – which I hope you are not – you will have a thing for 60s infused pop music with a dreamy edge to it. Luckily Team Poule has you covered here and this one attached below is the latest offering by Toronto’s Grounders. Drawing Space is a great spring song with happy drums and tingling guitars. And more good news: after years of extended plays and tours their self-titled debut album is out now on bandcamp and about to be released in Europe June 15th. Summer soundtrack anyone?

They are playing New York and Philadelphia this week and range of dates in Canada next month – which is next week, so click here for a nice list of times, places and venues.

moglebaumEver wondered what forest-techno sounded like? Moglebaum came up with just that and while the techno part is quite self-explanatory the forest comes in form of a violin and saxophone. Now before get all violin mixed with electronic sounds, ugh, been there done that, wait a minute and give this one a proper listen. It’s actually quite amazing and unlike anything.

And this is just the recorded sounds. Wait til they get up on a stage. I reckon that is where the magic happens. Luckily, Moglebaum play Hamburg’s Volt June 3rd, and Lunatic Festival in Lüneburg June 5th before they are off to play a festival in Bulgaria, June 13th. Hit that.
