love-songsThat moment when you are at a concert and the music is quite experimental in a way that they are messing around with synths and a drum set and a bass guitar like a lot of bands are these days and you stand there holding on to your beverage, tipping on your toes and losing yourself in the sound which makes it a sort of psychedelic experience – and here comes the but – but not in a way that it slows you down and takes you away, making you dreamy, instead it’s really energetic and powerful and invigorating. It was an absolute charm watching Love-Songs play a full-on set a couple weeks ago. 40 minutes without breaks, all just one smooth wave taking its path. Beautiful. Attached is Selbstauflöser off their latest release.

Flora_CashCheck this: Cole and Shpresa met on SoundCloud and their musical attraction to one another quickly turned into something more and it wasn’t long before the two began a “Skype relationship”. Fast forward five months to June 2012, Shpresa, being from Stockholm, flew over to Minnesota to meet Cole in Minneapolis. She stayed for two months, then the couple returned to Sweden. One year later they got married and, now residing in Stockholm, they are working eagerly to release their debut album as Flora Cash. Attached below is their brand new video for the catchy single Save Me, written and directed by Lukasz Pytlik in Warsaw.

Reason enough for Team Poule to investigate into their lives and games a little bit more to see what Cole and Shpresa are all about.

hannes fischerIt’s summer and urban legend Hannes Fischer is at it again – this time shaking and swinging around with Cape Cub’s latest gem. Smoothly adding depth and a overall maritime feel that makes this the sea breeze to your hot summer day. Team Poule strongly recommends listening to this on a boat. Take it away.

other-lives-current-The warm riffs, liquid vocals and careful yet distinct drums on Oklahoma group Other Lives‘ new album Rituals are among the best you will hear this year and those are just facts. Their stellar LP has been out since May and it’s really quite difficult to not like it. Lucky you then that they are busy touring the United States of Europe these days.

The trio is playing Hamburg’s Molotow this Thursday, July 9th before they are off to more dates in Stuttgart, Munich and Vienna among others. Attached below is their great single Easy Way Out, one of the more playful and folk’y numbers on the record.

BLVTHSir BLVTH and the Eastside Boyz on this one. Ice cold producer BLVTH finds his perfect vocal match up in Berlin singer Sumera. Her new single Wolf already carries drums that are lukewarm and miles deep – but enter BLVTH, adding his trademark vast synths and reverb waves, turning down the temperature and. Bang. Snap. What! A hit is a hit is a hit. Love the 808s Kanye style drums on this one.

NOTENow, here is something that Team Poule has been meaning to put in the spotlight for a long time. NOTE, one half of duo League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which he forms with When Saints Go Machine producer Simon, released his debut album Love & Indifference back in March. And before you get all rah rah rah rap music, sit down for a minute and give this one a proper listen. At 19 tracks Love & Indifference comes in as quite the heavy weight but as soon as you hit play you sail right though it. A wonderful range of vast, deep electronic beats going from slow and funky to almost techno bpms at times which makes it a really enjoyable album to listen to.

Furthermore, the instrumental diversity is always anchored by NOTE’s deep voice that so perfectly matches its musical surroundings. NOTE goes from talking, rapping, singing to simply complementing the beats, somewhat turning the voice into another instrument, merging with the music. More than a mere ‘rap’ album NOTE’s Love & Indifference is an all around modern and thus ultimately pop music album. A proper piece of art and the perfect soundtrack to whatever activity you fancy, making it both rad and new. Love & Indifference is out now on Proximal Records and up on Bandcamp. Attached below is Stand Or Fall Part 2, produced by Hanssen. A standout track on the album, space music, so good.
