Getting a good look at those flowers? Like cherry blossom, like trees shaking their leaves off around this time of the year, I’m Not A Band or rather Stephan very naturally sports a new singing voice alongside his synths and production work. Not necessarily wanting to lose the old one but instead – very much like leaf and tree – both of them progressing, separately, mutually, endogenous. So, here comes I’m Not A Band in an all new formation. And having followed his development quite closely in the past, this new setup is quite the leap ahead for the tastes of Team Poule. Proper electronic pop music, very forward, while still showing the distinct Stephan-part in it.
They are touring Europe right now, stopping in Hamburg at Molotow Bar this Friday. Berlin and Dresden and loads more after that. Should be a fun season to watch. The new album is titled Oceans and it out on German label AdP Records. Attached below is Cages, off said album. Make sure to also get a glimpse of the great video that comes along with it.
Parisian top flight team Champions League have kicked out a new mid-range volley of a song. AF2 is dreamy and easy on the ears making it a double plus in Team Poule’s play book. The track comes off their upcoming second EP which unfortunately will not be called Gegenpressing but AF1 which is okay too and to be released on 25 Years and Running. They will be releasing a new song every two weeks until the release and with this new gem out today, you can do your calculations on when a new one might pop out. Take it away.
A heavy breeze of 90s vibes is about to hit down like a good old fashioned November storm: Nordic club rockers Ja Ja Ja are about to host the third edition of their concert series in Hamburg at Molotow tomorrow. Aboard the cruise ship are Italian by way of Sweden poppers Emmecosta, Icelandic singer M-Band and Danish robin goldbreasts CHINAH – pronounced China-ah, or something like that. Attached below is their latest treat Minds. A solid pop number that sounds like it’s delorean’d right through an icy 90s loophole.
Team Poule naturally reached out for you and we managed to get 2×2 tickets for the Hamburg event under our wings. All you need to do to get a nice pair is comment on this post and the lucky winners will be drawn tomorrow, Nov 11th 2pm CET.
Ja Ja Ja is happening at Hamburgs Molotow tomorrow, November 11th, and at Berlins Flux Bau with the same line-up on the 12th. Now, there really isn’t much reason to be anywhere else in November than at a Ja Ja Ja show.
Feathers, neon lights and lush beats – Cologne-based Roosevelt has the scents of a new super star. His debut lifted him out of the underground and into the fast lane of lime light and fame. With his new release he put the foot down on his disco pedal and delivered the soundtrack to your festival summer nights as well as the dark evenings of November. Attached below is his latest video, Night Moves.
Lucky then, that Herr Roosevelt will be showcasing his talent at a handful of gigs accross Europe this month, playing Amsterdam on the 16th and Paris on the 18th – both gigs in support for Hot Chip. No Hot Chip though on his spree across Germany playing Hamburgs shiny new venue Häkken on Nov 26th, Cologne on the 27th before being off to Frankfurt on the 28th and Berlin on the 29th – four days of traveling November-Germany: what more could you ask for really! Least you can do is come out and form a proper crowd for this fella to play in front of. All infos on the wheres and when – here.
The man, the legend, Germany Germany is about to squeeze out his not eighth or ninth but tenth (sic!) album with a release date set for late November. Now, having started his business around the time Team Poule commenced this little shenanigan, it’s been truly epic to witness his project developing, growing and evolving never being finished, always on the run, trying out new things.
His tenth album is titled Willow and the gems that are already out in the public suggest that Sir Germany Germany has done it again. Carried by his stellar production, the layers of electronic and pop vibes meld together perfectly, creating a beautiful dreamy take of the electro pop spectrum. Attached below is If I Stay featuring the always lovely, always on-point Kotomi, her voice so gently matching Germany Germany’s soft and distinct works.
Willow will be out November 20th, available – along with a range of older Germany Germany releases – via Bandcamp.
Just when you thought, every tune and every harmony that can be played on guitar has been played – something fresh and new turns around the corner. Osaka though are neither Asian nor particularly Japanese but Australian. As such they naturally sport the edgy but likable attitudes. According to the information provided alongside this release, they are a bunch of 18 year olds – making them a year old when Zidane won the World Cup and a shy eleven years old when Obama won that election. Oh my.
Vessel is their first single it seems and it is grand. Though not reinventing the wheel, Vessel is half indie half rock half pop. Attached below.
