South London trio Beaty Heart just released their sophomore album Till The Tomb in July and are now busily presenting it to the world, making a stop at Hamburgs MS Dockville festival this weekend, too. The three day festival will kick off on Friday on Hamburg’s lovely green lung that is the river island of Wilhelmsburg. Attached below, thus, is Beaty Heart’s new video for Raw Gold – which, depending on your geographical whereabouts, might (not) be viewable. Dreamy synth pop band Dark Colour have been around for a while now and they always manage to produce that special something. Their new album Animal came out in July and is mixing both dreamy and more driving songs of the spectrum, a great melange of blurry synths, determined vocals and banging acoustics. Over eight songs Dark Colour appear to be telling a story of extraterrestrial life, eternity, love and destiny.
At a running time of just over 25 minutes, Animal serves as the perfect companion to your average working day commute or dinner preparation. Attached below is the dreamy track Sunset, concluding the album. Animal is out on your favorite online outlets and will be out soon on a very physical vinyl via Kitabu Music. Just little over week until Hamburgs lovely city island Wilhelmsburg opens its gates for MS Dockville, August 19-21. On the ticket are Icelandic wonder poppers Vök who secured a key slot at the Butterland stage, playing Saturday night at 9. Vök produce a charming twist of dreamy electro and pop, should be a perfect setting for them at Dockville. Attached below is their hit single Waterfalls from a year ago. MS Dockville, your favorite festival when it comes to extensive shenanigans on a green river island in Hamburg, Germany’s second city – and pictured above. This year, for its 10th edition, the festival seems to have put together a bit of a best-of from previous years, with major names including Foals, Bastille, Crystal Fighters, Milky Chance, Kakkmaddafakka, Aurora, Ry X, Hinds and really, many more.
A first pick out of the rich line up that should not be missed are Britain’s Honne. The duo’s supreme abilities are hardly a secret anymore, fusing a rather memorable mix of RnB, soul and ambient vibes. One for the open skies this. Attached below is Good Together off their just released debut album Warm On A Cold Night. They will be playing Maschinenraum on Saturday at 710pm. Hold on to your schnitzels and bratwursts! Here comes a precious little gem from the German part of the world. Fluffy Floor hail from the lovely hut that is Saarbrücken, just off the French border. And on their latest issue Lobs they are going at it so hard, the riffs and drive make you wonder what it is they put in their drinking water down there. Super good. A full blown surf anthem of proportions unseen within that particular region. Team Poule says, where did that come from?
Netflix, your favorite companion on a rainy cold Wednesday night in July. According to The Internet their latest treat Stranger Things is among the finest things the global videothèque yet put out. And it was reason enough for old mates Kirrin Island and Billion One to join forces and record an atmospheric homage to this piece of post television history. So while Netflix automatically loads yet another episode you originally had no intention of viewing, hit that pause button, and binge listen through the three tracks they strapped together on Soundcloud.
