2011 shapes up to become a good year for Total Warr. Their song Gangsta Rap will be out as a digital bonus track on the new KITSUNÉ PARISIEN compilation in February. Furthermore, you can find I Don’t Need Your Friendship on Poule Noire – for free. The band is now reunited in Paris and busy working on its first LP. Please Never gives a first taste of what to expect: yummy.
Mikey B has released three marvelous EPs under his moniker Waskerley Way. They’re all cat-themed, packed with gazing glam pop and up for download through his MySpace page (#1 Holly and #2 Cat Music) and bandcamp page (#3 Energy Legs). This one’s a premiere on Poule d’Or: Electric Ocean People are the first band hailing from Poule’s beautiful hometown Hamburg being posted here. The quartet produces a lovely mix of ambient, trip hop and folk pop and is easily the best local band the Poule ever encountered. North features Julia’s vocals beautifully melding with ambient soundscapes by Mario, Chris and Lars, providing just the right tunes to drift off to on a lazy Tuesday.
