And boom! Time is running fast up there in Canada – only two months after sending shockwaves through the endless and ever expanding blogosphere by announcing an indefinite pause to the Germany Germany project, the mastermind producer who is Drew Harris returns with a two-song single Departure/Disconnect and the promise of a new album this summer. This kid works fast and he works great. Departure and Disconnect (featuring once more the amazing Steph Thompson whose voice seems to be made for Germany Germany beats.) are showing the more introspective and ambient side of Germany Germany – totally into that.

Hamburg’s own The Dashwoods are busy touring all kinds of places in Germany these days in preparation for the release of their new EP Mirage. If you happen to call Hamburg your home, don’t miss their release party on Thursday (March 1st) at Hanseplatte > event page. Gonna be a hoot!
Mirage carries three new songs, two remixes. All around enjoyable, proper folk’ish indie pop – a rare thing coming from an all German outfit. Actually good. The whole record is up on Soundcloud.

Just home from supporting The Maccabees on a couple of European dates, french pop-wonders AIR BAG ONE are releasing their debut EP today. Summer Killed Us comes with an absolutely astonishing video for its lead single Whatever You Want, don’t miss that. First thing that pops to mind listening to the EP is the exceptionally beautiful production on all four songs, everything fits together perfectly creating an all around harmonic mix. A truly great record the trio put out there. Definitely keep your eyes on AIR BAG ONE.
Also snag a live version of their song Sweet England on Poule d’Or #7.

Brooklyn’s adorable duo Lizard Kisses (Lizard Kisses are the best, better kisses than the rest, Lizard Kisses on your tongue, kisses are for everyone) and Vancouver’s charming My Friend Wallis (this egg) released a split 7-inch together. Not just your average split release, the two collaborated on artwork collages for the record > resulting in 35 different, handmade and totally unique record sleeves you can all check out here. Absolutely astonishing. I reckon you get behind that and place an order now to call one of those masterpieces your own.

One of the rather pleasant inboxes tagged “house” > the Blind Tiger EP by Swedish DJ duo Sticky & Sandy, available now on Stockholm-based electro label 12-3 Recordings. Four songs, entitled Hoboken, New Orleans, Coney Island and Montauk making up an acoustic spectrum capturing that exactly journey. (photo)
