The beloved Freedom Fry have a new EP out with a couple of amazing remixes of their hit single Summer In The City – which is still out and available on the new Poule d’Or 10. Attached is Auriént‘s take on Bruce and Marie’s summer hit – the moniker of Santa Barbara’s Daniel Garner. Also check Chordashian‘s (sick name) version, great remixes all along. The whole EP can be downloaded for free on bandcamp.

More Freedom Fry on Poule d’Or.

Here is another lovely inbox surprise for you. Rush Hour by London’s Anomaly. Synth-laden alternative pop – sort of in the Chromatics-vein. At least, that’s what the Poule thinks. Great song, the vocals are just perfect. Out and available since June on Sick Music Records > consult your local dealer/ iTunes store.

morceau du jour: Encore! – Rythm

Unsure if it’s a typo or just hipster – and it doesn’t even matter really because boom, wow! Parisian power house Encore! have put together their debut EP which is out and available through iTunes. The trio has already played a handful of shows in Paris and supported this guy named Washed Out when he played la capitale de la France. The self-titled EP carries five absolutely brilliant dance-y electropop’ish tracks and quite frankly I can’t take my ears of it (which have been non stop on the new Two Door Cinema Club album – but that’s another story). This song below is maybe my favorite but you should definitely check out the entire EP on Soundcloud > off you go.

Torsnes and Sandnes, two small towns in Norway. Two basements. Johannes and Kristian. Both still living with their respective parents when they each discover computers don’t only take you on teh endless interwebz but also make a rather interesting musical instrument: it’s a bit of a rare occasion here at Poule d’Or headquarters, but we are super proud to host the exclusive premiere of Norwegian beat wizards Torkelsen and Violet Dream remixing each other for an upcoming release on Oslo’s Sellout! Music.

Kristian Torkelsen has been covered here before and released a brilliant debut album on Sellout! in the meantime. His production is coming from a more uptempo, hip hop based background, while his companion Violet Dream is starting from the more ambient side of the spectrum.

Violet Dream is this young lad pictured on the left: Johannes, who started making music under this moniker a year ago: at the humble age of 15! Which is completely on its head! I’m pretty sure I played with Legos at that age and you couldn’t be online AND make a phone call at the same time. From home that is. Amazing. His debut EP was out in June on, you know it, Sellout exclamation mark.

Both songs are out now on two seperate EPs on Sellout’s bandcamp, here and here – for free!

Ohh yeah – finally some fresh tunes by Swim Deep. It’s been a while since they shared a track for Poule d’Or 8 a year ago. So here comes their latest single Honey. I haven’t actually paid attention to the lyrics but I’m fairly certain they do not contain a Jessica Alba reference. But who knows. I will listen more closely as the song will be on repeat at Poule d’Or headquarters anyway > because it’s brilliant. And so should you, let me know if you find anything.

Honey will be out as a single November 5th on Chess Club Records following an extended tour through the Greats of Britain in October.
