Awesome new single by Hamburg’s favorite Kirrin Island. After supporting numerous big names like Baths and Gold Panda, he is now busy working on recording his new album – this is the first single to make it out of his laboratory: the great vocal based track EA. Really excited for his new stuff, he has already added some of it to his live shows – really promising. One to watch in 2013.

So and Krychek served his new EP the other day – and it’s fourty-love, absolutely great. Four tracks, electro pop’y, great rhythm. This is the opener She’s Here – which is more on the dreamy end of it (obviously). The whole EP is up for streaming on Soundcloud. Game, set and match – Krychek.

Colleagues are this exciting new outfit from Stockholm whose new single Parent’s House recently got the Emil Héro treatment. Just beautiful. Soundcloud needs a repeat button! Maybe it’s my antipathy with cats that I did not give Cashmere Cat a try to listen to his stuff when I stumbled upon his name. But with his rework of Feadz & Kito’s Wettex he got me. I once saw Kito DJing as an opener for Major Lazer. I did not recognize her because I did not know how she actually looked like. All I was thinking was, damn this girl can turn the tables and I have mad respect for her. And speaking of skills… Cashmere Cat, aka Magnus August Hoiberg, is a former DMC finalist. All the more I like that Cashmere Cat is doing a very reduced sound where everything just sounds right. He released his debut EP Mirror Maru a month ago and his remix for Wettex is released on Parisienne label Ed Banger this week on beatport.

So I’m just reading this book with essays by an American journalist – one of them about the young Michael Jackson. When he hadn’t yet developed his iconic voice, when him, Janet and Randy just jammed for hours, when his nickname was “Smelly”. So then today, this lands in our mailbox: a new brilliant video by the most amazing Saint Motel who released a fantastic debut album earlier this year.
