3210838977_5bba45254c_zSo, being a kid of the late-80s and early-90s – this one by Torgny from Oslo is right up Team Poule’s icy alley. The memory is blurry but this is what it was like in retrospect. Synth, electronic, and a little bit of Michael Jackson in everything. When it was really important to SOUND good. You know.

And as much as he is doing right with these tunes, he is doing, well, differently, in his press shots. So instead, here is the photo of a police dog trying to use a pay phone in New South Wales in 1935.

Attached is Nights, the man’s new single.

Baseball game at Delorimier Park, Montreal, QC, about 1933Totally into this. Mysterious, hot electro pop from Los Angeles’ based and ungoogleable group Mega. Attached is their first demo Doin’ It Wrong.

cooperNot an ounce too heavy is this fresh breeze of pop music coming in from Montreal’s Cooper. Her debut single was just released through Sara of Tegan and Sara’s label. Intense. Look out for more.

drapeSo I never did a best-of-2013 last year. One release that certainly would have made it into the top-5 is Dråpe’s debut Canicular Days. Perfect electronic pop music of the more dreamy and shoe-gazey kind. Draw-Peh have it all. Based in cozy Oslo, they are up to conquer relevant cities in Germany this week, playing Marburg (15th) and Kassel (16th) then Hamburg’s Astra Stube this Friday and Lido in Berlin on Saturday.

hazy-mountainsWho doesn’t love starting something new, a new beginning? Opening the first page of a new book, hitting play on an unknown song, spring? Why is it then that January always tends to suck. No offense, January. Or actually yes, January. Step your game up Jan. However, what’s making this month of grey and cold and lack of public holidays quite more bearable is this track from Germany’s own Hazy Mountains. Neon Velvet is hazy (sic!) happiness strapped in a song, it’s underwater music. An album to follow later this year. More please.

wyomingLovers of a good electronic indie pop vibe: Wyoming released a brilliant debut album last year and now prepping up their first tour of the year. Supporting their fellow label mates I’m Not A Band on a range of dates. Perfect way to spend a January night if you ask me. They are playing Hamburg on the 15th, next up Leipzig, Berlin and a handful of other cities. All dates at I’m Not A Band – who tour with a new singer for the first time, and a warm promise of new songs.

Attached is the epic Touchy Mob remix of Wyoming’s single Afterword. Pure.
