Göteborg’s prestigious Way Out West slash Stay Out West is taking place next weekend and Team Poule couldn’t be more excited to get on a train up North. And little do you know, the festival acutally is not that far west. It is placed righttt in the city like all good festivals should be. The headliners among a massive lineup include some minor names like Röyksopp and Robyn, How To Dress Well, Outkast, Motörhead (hell yeah!), The National, Polica, Mos Def, Icona Pop, Little Dragon and a whole range of other Swedish artists and you know that is never a bad idea.

One of those Swedish names are our old pals Colleagues – who shared a track for the 11th compilation last year. It will be a pleasure seeing them on a stage, playing their swingy indie pop in the refreshing Göteborg air. Attached below is their latest gem Tears.

pin_tweaksNow here is a band that has it all. London duo Pin Tweaks not only has a killer name chosen for themselves, their first and only song out yet Girl On The Wire is a fantastically chilled sort of electro pop track that makes your skin curl. Super good. Does come with a great video too.

And the story of how the two met. When they were dating a pair of sisters. How about that. Attached below is their stellar entry Girl On The Wire (pushing it up). Let this one guide you through the weekend – hey-yooo!

unknown_1Now, two of these above are gonna be spending some time in Croatia in September when legendary Unknown Festival is opening its gates for this years extravaganzas. Set nicely on the Adriatic coast line in Rovonj, the festival takes places not only on the beach but also along the hinterland forests and the islands nearby. Boat parties included. The official festival does come with the option of a three star hotel which is among the best things Team Poule has seen a festival do. Sleeping in the forest under the starry skies does sound a bit more festival’ish though.

So who else will be on board – literally? Jungle and Mount Kimbie, Jamie xx, Erol Alkan, and a load more. Already confirmed headliners include Nile Rodgers (yes.), Disclosure, Moderat, London Grammar and bunch more waiting to be announced. Mark that in your calendars, September 8-12th.

Attached below is TEED setting the mood with Your Love. Hot sun, sandy beaches, cool shade under the trees and hot summer nights by the sea – it really goes.

beams_floralDrop the ciggies, pass the courvoisier, get your oven gloves out for this one – red hot new and a total world premiere. BEAMS‘ latest gem gets the Matias Quarleri treatment. Now, Matias appears to be somewhat of a behind-the-scenes producer over in New York, working on his personal debut to come out this fall, snack his channel for more. So so deep.

BEAMS, pictured above buttoning his shirt, has just released a 2-song single with the freshest label Cascine. Sort of fruity electro pop with a very dancy twist to it that makes it very hard to sit still. Snack the hypnotic A-side Feeling That The Feeling’s Right below – right after the exquisite summer night remix of the b-side Quiet Arms by Matias Quarleri. Hit it.

la_plage_rdrSo, picture this. France. Bretagne. Saint Malo. The coast. Fort de Saint-Père, a medieval fortification set up under the reign of Louis the 16th – so basically, rather old. Now, in this setup, twice a year La Route du Rock, one of France’s most prestigious festivals is taking place. Twice, because they can. The summer edition is going down August 13-16th. Among the headliners are Jamie xx, Portishead, Moderat, Anna Calvi, Mac DeMarco and many more.

However, the one Team Poule is the absolute most excited about is the French outfit Pegase. Their smooth dream pop is among the finest you will ever find. And not only does Route Du Rock take place in a fort, it also has quite an amazing stage set up right by the beach – I mean, does it get any better than that? Does not. Pegase will play La Plage – no shit, a stage called La Plage – on Saturday afternoon, 4pm. Attached below is their magnificently smooth track Sanny’s Baby – a song the team recently provided to the soundtrack of the latest Louis Vuitton travel book, hey-yo!

And for those who still have energy left on Sunday, just dip in the sea OR join the traditional football tournament Sport Is Not Dead that will be played out right on the beach. What better way to spend a weekend in the middle of August? Pack your tent and loved one – and snag a last ticket here.

freedom_fryFreedom Fry – your favorite American French combo since steak frites returns with a beautiful summer single. The Wilder Mile is tambourine-fused happiness carefully dispensed over 202 seconds. Inspiring, the perfect soundtrack for a little twilight ride on your bicycle on a hot summer evening. Not sure if steak frites does actually qualify as an American French dish though.
