It’s that Denver time of the year and fittingly Denver-based beat machines The Circus House released a new package of bliss. What A Feeling is their new single and first track off their upcoming album Graceful Jungle which should be out in time for spring next year. The Circus House actually is a group of artists all related to The Blackout Beat – the label slash artistic playground of production duo and brothers Armando and Marcos Garibay. Beautiful songs to be found on there.
Make sure to also snack their all time great Tasteless Kisses for free on the 12th Poule d’Or Compilation.
The man, the legend, Germany Germany. A name that always manages to tickle the Poule’s plumage. Like Deutsche cars, Drew keeps going and going and going, seemingly effortlessly producing hits. He now released a new self-titled album containing some old songs and some new, however no less than all of them recorded with the help of a full band of friends. A great energy throughout the whole tracklist – and out on bandcamp.
Attached is Love and Science Fiction, a trademark Germany Germany track. Indie electronica at its absolute finest. Keep going Drew.
Multi talent Isaac Sakima surfaced a couple of years ago playing the piano and singing a rather lovely cover version of Beyonce’s Crazy In Love for a nice project called A Quiet Corner – which, it appears, is no longer in business. Very much in business though is Isaac Sakima who now, more than two years later, dropped the Isaac and goes by the name of SAKIMA, readying a debut release.
What really, if you sport a voice and play the piano self-taught like he does, feels like a sensible thing to do. Reason enough for Team Poule to get our Kent Brockman going and see what it’s all about. Attached below is Energy – his first single – a marvelous minimal yet spacious production and those impeccable vocals. Meet SAKIMA.
You have been making music for a while, do you feel your approach to composing or writing has changed over the years?
I think it’s ever-evolving to be honest. But my desire to make music has always been the same, I love the communicative possibilities of song and of art in general. I’m heavily influenced by my peers and as my inspirations change so do my methods of working.

Now here is someone who has been around for ages making good music for himself as well as other people and yet, and yet it feels like he’s not been getting the kind of general public recognition that would seem adequate. Anders Kleerup from Stockholm has made a name for himself as one of the finest electro slash pop producers in the Northern hemisphere. For his new EP he brought together the likes of indie sensations Niki & The Dove, Swedish singer and The Knife guest-vocalist Jenny Wilson and lead singer of The Sounds Maya Ivarsson. Furthermore, the EP starts off and finishes with banging instrumental songs that would even make Giorgio Moroder talk about the early days. An absolutely stellar release.
Attached is his latest single and beaut Let Me In featuring Norwegian singer and former Björk background vocalist Susanne Sundfør. All to be found on Kleerup’s new EP titled As If We Never Won – but really, in the end, it’s not about who won or lost.
Now who’s up for some tropical flavours in this November’esque October weather? Katacoma are a five-piece hailing from the land down underrr and their new EP is a brilliant collection of vocal melodies, sun drenched riffs and pinching cymbals.
Attached below is the first taste, Lost For Words. A song that starts off at the beach with sand underneath your feet and slowly takes you away from the shore and into the nightly streets, hazy.
Red hot new this one by Copenhagen duo Wangel. Electronic beats that are miles deep and vocals that make a difference. Attached is their first and only offering Sun – which is what the week has been missing in this part of the world. So hit play, slap those winter tires on your fixie and lose yourself. Life.
