mk-grandsDu neuf coming in from Sydney Australia for you croony-inclined electro beats lovers. MK Grands is a DJ from the land down under and after much critical acclaim for his debut Throne he has now coming up a carefully orchestrated release on the up and coming label Morpheme Records.

MK Grands sounds like someone who will be great to see on a big stage under a starry sky with massive Kanye-West-808s-style drums surrounding him, pre-Kim era.

jylda_WEBWhat better way to start the year than with a world exclusive premiere here at Camp Poule. Berlin ensemble JYLDA has already enlightened the last year with their deep pop songs meandering between driving synths and crisp vocals. Here now comes their latest offering, titled very optimistically No Hope.

It’s not all hopeless though, a new year also is a new beginning and underneath the soft production you can actually find the inner struggle between fear and curiosity. 2015 is also the year of a new James Bond movie and picturing a somewhat broken and human Bond, JYLDA might well provide the soundtrack to a slow motion intro sequence of smoke, shapes and shadows.

If you happen to call Berlin home, you might want to catch them playing live at Kaffee Burger January 28 and as part of Songcircle Berlin at Aufsturz February 22.

birthday-cake-pouleJoyeux Pouliversary to Team Poule! Five years ago this whole extravaganza started and surprisingly it’s still going strong! A massive Thank You to all you readers across the world for making this ride the ride it is! And ‘across the world’ actually couldn’t be more true. Poule d’Or really has become a global operation. The past year saw visitors surfing the web of Poule from 114 countries! From Panama and Nepal to Europe and the United States, the search for good music is the common denominator and we at Team Poule are very happy to be a part of it.

Another Thank You goes out to all the festivals that made the past year a special and very professional one. From SPOT Festival in lovely Aarhus to Roskilde Festival, Unknown Festival in sunny Croatia, Route du Rock in Saint Malo, Way Out West in sweet Göteborg along with Melt Festival in Germany and of course Reeperbahn Festival and MS Dockville in our hub Hamburg. Can’t wait to get 2015 going and see new exciting bands popping up and playing in front of small and big audiences.

Providing the soundtrack to the fifth birthday is Swedish group Museum Of Bellas Artes. The trio has been one of the first supporters of Poule d’Or and only a few weeks ago sadly declared they’d call it a day. So this is Twine II their last and final single in that formation – and absolute beaut and what a high note to end on.

Schultz_and_ForeverSo, Team Poule got out of the house last week to see this guy Schultz and Forever play under a Christmas tree. And it couldn’t have been a better setting for a truly amazing solo set by him. Cozy bar, dim light, a husky voice and the guitar at his finger tips, a beautiful collection of songs showcasing his emerging talent is up on Soundcloud. Attached below is the dynamic Spirit Molecule. Make sure to check out Silvia too.

His new EP Broadcast Dynamics is out now – and makes a great Christmas present for the interested music lover if that is what you are looking for.
