Stellar debut track by Art Bloc – channeling the holy trinity of Jamie xx, Bowie and Toro Y Moi for their banging Everyday. The UK duo is pictured above, spotted in their natural habitat, and reportedly wrote and produced this fine track at the mere age of 17 – surreal. When Team Poule was that age, Pokemons were the talk of the town and Clinton was President – surreal! The composition of Everyday is as smooth as it gets and the charming vocals by Beth Duck pick you up right where you left off. Team Poule says, this is so good, I can’t even.
WHO is up for some new visuals raise your hands. The charming Twin River have put forth a new single with a video attached and Team Poule has been chosen to be the host of the (german) premiere for this one. In a market of 80+ million viewers, this is quite the honour!
Now, Twin River are a duo and sometimes a group of five people, evidence above. They just released their second studio album by the name of Passing Shade on Light Organ Records. If you are into the driving riffs and banging pop melodies, this is something I could see you being interested in. Their new album is a fine collection of ten catchy, warm rock songs with a strong pop handling, what more could you ask for really? The video for Settle Down was shot by Anthem Jackson and produced by Tim Kubbinga and features a fair amount of tulips, road trip freedom and popcorn. Team Poule says, these kids know how to have fun.
The folk music usually isn’t served as a main course here at the Poule headquarters but there is something to Daniel Amedee’s music that is both intriguing and a bit wild. It has a uniquely real and honest feel to it, an unpretentious warmth. Something that a lot of folk doesn’t really have, at least to Team Poule’s ear. Well, Daniel Amedee has now announced the release of an all new record, going by the name of Life and with a release date set for August.
Attached above is the new video for the title track. It was shot by Meg Williams in Chico, California over course of a day and had Daniel being covered in paint for seven hours straight at some point. Him and Meg Williams met when she was making a documentary for a band on the road and when Daniel went to Chico, “she rallied a good little group and we filmed it in a day”, as he puts it. What a day, caught on tape, above. Team Poule says, seven hours in paint huh.

Time to get out those oven gloves again. This one by Danish master mind My Heart The Brave is less than half a day old at pixel time. Talk about music blogs being dead – if this isn’t timely information, what is. My Heart The Brave of course, is the moniker of Danish producer Caspar Hesselager, who manages to create a sound that is deeply familiar and yet unlike anything else out there.
His latest gem Dark Black is no exception. The way piano and electronics complement each other, then taking in the vocals, is simply breath taking. Dark Black is the second single off his upcoming debut album, eagerly awaited to be out this autumn. Team Poule says, GOAT, possibly.
Did you know that in France, it is illegal to kiss on the platform of a train station in order to avoid any train delay? And that in France it is illegal to drink alcohol at your workplace – with the exception of beer, wine, cidre and poiré? Liberté you might say. In the meantime, all around Frenchman and Parisian Fragrance has a new video out which is proudly premiered right here, on the Poule d’Or.
