What a lovely surprise sitting in my inbox today: Lonely Day is a beautifully produced dreamy electronic sort-of ambient track by alleged Paris-resident Waterwalls. Perfect soundtrack for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Forget Italians, French do it better. Here comes Equateur, two Parisian lads Romain and Charles diffusing a very nice mélange of 80’s new wave and modern pop. Haunted is the first single off their upcoming debut EP Aquila which will be out later this year. Turn it up. The start of their creative journey comes with a video too, watch.

The infamous Michael Wright more commonly known as Bon Accord tips off the new year with an all new EP. Unknowing features five new songs carrying his trademark dreamy production style. The sort of lively ambient electronica that just makes you want to drive a black Daytona Spyder 365 through nightly Miami. The EP is out for free on bandcamp.

So wait. This is actually red hot new. Three fine Parisian folks going by the name encore! – with a clever exclamation mark. Like boom – ! Just this one song – disco’y electro with a twist. Danse danse danse. New Daft Punk? Peut-être. (photo source)

Manhattan’s Cultfever released their self-titled debut album in November last year and it somehow only made it onto the Poule d’Or radar today. J. Peter Durniak and Tamara Jafar “conceived of the album as a series of cinematic vignettes rather than trying to focus the project around a narrowly tailored theme.” – obviously. Below is the fantastic opener Knewyouwell that really takes off after a slow start – wait for it. Grab the album on their website.
