Great, semi-dreamy semi-rnb coming in from London’s Hawkon – who apparently is Norwegian albeit not a Prince. Seems like London is turning more and more electro rnb’ish lately – what’s that all about. What happened to the rough guitar scene? Either way, who cares when it sounds like this. Hawkon dropped this hot ball this morning, with the promise of an EP to be released in February.
Hawkon will be playing live in Berlin tomorrow at the Bergen Night I Monarch hosted by the lovely lilipads of Nordic by Nature.
Eeek – most parts of Northern Europe are currently experiencing the natural forces of Xaver, which is how German meteorologists named the first heavy storm of this winter. I hear Sweden went with Sven. Isn’t that peculiar? Either way, it’s this semi-apocalyptic setup into which London’s Breton sent over their new EP Force Of Habit. A prelude, a big setting-the-scene for their upcoming second studio album War Room Stories to be released in February.
So Force Of Habit has four songs, and they are all among the best shit this year has brought. Which is somewhat amazing. The lads did record their new album in Berlin this summer, and thinking this is what didn’t make the cut is just spectacular. Attached is Sticker Factory, stream the whole EP here. And the good news don’t stop there! Support for Miss VV will be coming from Hamburg’s very own Heartbeast – who Chin covered here before. The lads have been busy this summer, and are ready to showcase their new songs.
Epic new single by Delaykliniken from Stockholm – Love is in the air, way to warm up a November weekend.
Sit back and let A Thousand Vows take you on a holiday into the desert – which is exactly what’s happening up here in the video above. Oldenburg’s ambient sound lord remixed his own EP along with Canadian producer Mark Hjorthoy and Hamburg’s finest Kirrin Island, starting by playing it backwards – which I feel is a bit of an Leonardo DiCaprio Inception move, but I don’t really know anything. The product however is rather spectular. The preview is attached above while you can stream the entire remixed desert EP here.
Swedish label Mareld is gonna have a physical version of this available, December 23rd. Late Christmas present anyone?
One of Team Poule’s total faves Nimmo And The Gauntletts released a great new song this month. Others neatly follows the footsteps of their brilliant debut EP from last year. Very nice video by Balthazar Klarwein going along with it – powerful stuff.
