air_bagInformation is king. And looking to diversify the multitude of sources to dig for new music, Team Poule found a fair opportunity in Tradiio. And look who the tide brought in: french ensemble and our old pals Air Bag One. The team reshuffled themselves a little bit recently and are now operating as a duo.

Now, the team have played a grand US tour and SXSW this year, spent some time in the studio and released this pop banger 1992 – attached below at your convenience. All this fuzz was reason enough for Team Poule to get to the bottom of this, and hear what Air Bag One are all about.

What is the last thing you ate?

Chicken Byriani (almost like every day at lunch) in a restaurant down our music studio in Paris. It’s quite tasteless though, but there’s a big sign « EAT HEALTHY, BE HAPPY » in front of it, so we probably just fell into the trap. [continue reading…]

pnut_leonHere is one for your Ones To Watch in 2016 lists: producer P*Nut and a lent voice by Leon Jean Marie just unveiled a hot ball of harmonic noise arrangements. P*Nut, one of those very decorated names you never heard of, having produced alongside Amy Winehouse, The Justin Timberlake, Dido, Chloe Howl and tons more. Surreal.

Africa creates a sound of its own, merging multiple influences so neatly it brings up memories of Jungle’s first then mysterious gems. Africa is out on his own label Studio Week, take it away. The video shot around Cape Town is ace too.

blvthSo, the ice road trucker that is BLVTH has a new gem out. This time climbing on a roof top, putting his breezy touches on K.Flay’s original Make Me Fade. Some reverb, a good handful of 90s and great ton of ice: it really is quite striking how with only remixes out really Blvth has established a sound very much of his own. Attached below is the new gem, but also get your puffy ears on his other offerings.

comaSee those two bad boys above, lounging it out like Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett? It’s Marius and Georg, more commonly known as the not-polish ensemble COMA. The two of them have been making music together for the most part of their adolescent lives. Aging like a fine wine, their warm beats and synths are of high quality and easily among the best you will be able to find. They are currently on tour, playing Amsterdam on Friday this week, and then Berlin and their shiny hometown Cologne.

Their new album This Side Of Paradise is full of glam and French Riviera spirits and came out just last month on Kompakt. The hot single Lora is attached below at your convenience.

Now, all this was reason enough for Team Poule to inquire and see what COMA are all about.

Where did it all begin?

It began in high school were we already played in an indie rock band.

Kate-Boy1Swedish Australian power duo Kate Boy have been at it for some time, and just in time for the darkest days and longest nights of the year the Kate and the Boys decided to take their talents on a larger European tour. They come packing their debut album One – which feels like a very good choice of name for the first piece of album recording in a discography. They’ll be stopping in London, Amsterdam and Cologne this week – before heading deeper into Germany for gigs in Berlin and Hamburg and ultimately playing Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. All dates and whereabouts here.

Tuesday next week, December 8th, sees them playing their tunes in Hamburg at the prestigious new venue Häkken nestled right into the shiny Clubhaus St. Pauli complex. Häkken sports one of the finest soundsystems across the country and Kate Boy’s banging electro-pop should be a great scene to watch on that stage. Tickets for the show presented by your favorite Team Poule are still up for sale here.

Attached below is Midnight Sun, a brief description of what to expect.

sameblod_webIf you have a thing for Irish taxi drivers the latest joint by Swedish power house Sameblod will be right up your alley. Valencia comes off their new EP Nostalgia which is streaming in full over at Soundcloud. Now, these are times in which coffee and burgers are experiencing waves of their own and you can walk up to your barista and hear about the bean and where the bean went to school. And Sameblod, being born in a time when waves where chill and floating wasn’t a socially accepted way to spend your Satuday afternoon, fill the need for purity and ingenious simplicity with both feet on the ground. If Sameblod were a city, they would probably be Valencia.
