This is Vök. They make music that is really nice to listen to and they just released a new song which is called Waiting and attached below. Team Poule thinks it is really good and you can take a listen too if you feel like it. Even more so, Vök are from Iceland and will be on a European tour, playing Poland and Germany this week, and the Netherlands, Belgium, France and the UK after that. Find all dates here.
On March 4th they will be playing the hot new venue Häkken right on Hamburgs Reeperbahn. It is a nice place with good drinks and a sound system that really makes a difference. Team Poule says, Vök bring the summer vibes.

France, country of cigarettes, wine and love. Meet Yalta Club, the ensemble that provides the soundtrack to activities involving at least one of the three. The bon vivants will be taking their Black Sea themed rhythms on a greater European tour, stopping in Germany and Switzerland next week. First off is Hamburg’s prestigious Häkken on Saturday night March 5th – before they are off to Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Zermatt, Nantes and more. Surreal. Attached is their banging Love – be sure to check their new gem The Door over on Spotify. Team Poule says, vibe to this.
It is the finest pleasure seeing Summer Heart riding those gravitational waves, putting out new gems at ease. Pretty Haze is his latest offering and a promise of a new album to be out sometime this year. The track comes just in time to get yourself in a mood for Mr. Summer Heart’s stint at SXSW in Austin next month – and for those New Yorkers not making the trip west: Summer Heart will be playing the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on March 23rd, all boosted up by that hot Texan air. Now, that is something I wouldn’t want to be seen missing out on. Team Poule says, lose yourself Brooklyn – in the music, the moment.
Norway’s stellar indie label Sellout! and Poule d’Or teamed up for an all new series of mixtapes. Each month, a member of the extended Sellout! Music family will be putting together a fresh mix and share it with the general public. In a time where most things in life come with strings attached or at least a tracking link, this mixtape series is the proxy server to your average Wednesday night.
First off the roll is Norwegian producer and multi talent Spiny Norman – who will also have an EP out on Sellout next month. This mix though will be among the finest 49 minutes you will probably have spent today: a marvelous collection of dreamy and dancey electronic pop tracks, ranging from 1980s vintages to ones that only just came out. Spiny says his mix “is mostly comprised of tracks from what is in my opinion, three very important groups of electronic musicians. There are the pioneers of the early eighties, the techno wizards who pushed their humble gear to the limits and the synthesists of the present who elegantly capture and channel the heart and soul of both these other groups.”
It is Spiny Norman’s selection that really puts the cats among the mixtape-pigeons, with stellar picks ranging from 1980s Tangerine Dream and Yellow Magic Orchestra to 1990s Caz and Hallucinogen and the rather recent Neon Indian. And then there is the way he managed to put a narrative into those 49 minutes, across genres and decades of styles and music. Chapeau. Let Spiny Norman take you for a ride. Team Poule says, stay relaxed – and bring your chairs into an upright position. hear the mix after the jump
What a year it has been already and we are not even 8 weeks in yet. And here comes German duo VIMES with new tracks like they are cotton candy. VIMES only just released their debut LP going by the impeccable name of Nights in Limbo on Berlin’s legendary Humming Records. Attached below is their latest sweet piece: Tuem. A spherical dance pop track that makes your knees week and shoulders bounce like an 80s fitness coach – what more could you ask for really. A tour you say? Sure thing. The team is playing all relevant parts of Germany in March: from obvious stages in Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Hamburg to less obvious ones in Kassel, Duisburg and Hannover, all dates here. Team Poule says, they mean business.
