Not even sure WHERE to begin with My Tiger My Timing. Loved the London five-tet long before Poule d’Or even existed and I’ve been eeeagerly awaiting their debut album forever. No longer. Celeste is here! A collection of ten songs released through their own label Snakes & Ladders, some of the songs sound familiar, they shared some for Poule d’Or compilations and most of them are red hot new and unreleased.
They aren’t being overly experimental or groundbreakingly new in their sound and yet listening to Celeste just makes everything better. It’s an inner happiness they bring out with their light tunes and lovely melodies. But don’t be fooled by their cute outside – keep an ear on the lyrics and you’ll find that there is indeed a tiger lurking behind that little kitty cat. From first to last, it is an overall great mix of happy pop songs.

These ‘bros’ are shaping up to be really (fucking) exciting. After their EPIC last single 1997 the Los Angeles vagabonds of Saint Motel released the next single off their debut album Voyeur which is out July 10th. This banger is entitled Benny Goodman: “The one who laughs last, who waits until the joke is long dead, at that moment, you strike like Benny Goodman”. Prime stuff. Right there.

Got the video to this song by Nimmo and the Gauntletts sent to me the other day and I have been listening/watching quietly over and over since. Just gets better and better. Really nice. It’s off the Londoner’s debut EP, which is as brilliant and up for streaming on their Soundcloud. Reminds me a bit of The xx – not sure why exactly, they don’t sound like them very much. Guess it the black and white image and the whole English attitude. Bottomline, they’re rad > listen to this.
